Minutes of BRAHMS Analysis Meeting Friday 09 2007 ================================================== Submitted by Michael Murray http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=12287 Present: BNL: Chellis, FV, Ramero, JH KU Steve, Dipali, Selemon, Michael, Bergen: Hongyang, TAMU Kris, NBI Hans and as special guest Eun-Joo Kim who is visiting Kansas. Action Items: 1) Selemon will look put momentum cut into his acceptance corrections to account for the momentum cut used for RHIC PID. 2) Selemon will send out QM proceedings next Wednesday. 3) Collaboration will read Han's QM proceedings and Pawels note on statistics by next week 4) Kris will make a presentation of his pp work in next 2 weeks. Agenda: 09:30 pp results at 62 Gev for winterworkshop F.videbaek This shows the new slides I intend to show at the big sky winterworkshop next week. 09:40 QM2006 Proc., Identified particle spectra with RICH (20') SELEMON BEKELE (The University of Kansas) 10:00 qm preceedin gs (20') ( Slides ) Hans dahlsgaard cont. 10:20 spectra averaging (20') ( Slides ) Pawel Staszel 10:40 recent dau results (15') ( Slides ) Hongyan Yang (UiB) centrality cuts, comparison, problem Kris working on pp run 5, he hopes to show something soon. FV Nice aggreement with ISR results Comparison of NLO pQCDcalculations (Vogelsang) with BRAHMS pi+ data at y=0. Reasonable aggreement, disagrrement above 2GeV may be due to kaon contamination. Calculation is for pi0, but pi+/pi0 ~1 with 5% in range measured in calculations. He does this comparison also at y=2.7 and y=3.3 and gets a supprsingly goood aggrement. Note 5 degree data at /s=52GeV shows a strong descrepency JH asks how theory handles phase space limitation. Note at y=2.7 (he thinks) p/pi is above 2 at pt=0.8 and it rises rapidly. Selemon: QM Proceedings "Charged Hadron Spectra in CuCu at 200GeV at RHIC" JH and FV suggests that he show less of the d-Au results which Selemon was using as an introduction. He will show spectra and Rcp for H+ and H- at 3 rapidities and for various centralities. He has calibrated the RICH for all the CuCu settings. A few runs had some database problems for the magnetic field settings. Flemming has fixed this and Selemon will rerun the GTRs and DSTs. He has put plots on web page, (Get this from selemon) He can now get identified particle spectra Track Cuts:-20 < VtxZ < 20 -14.32 < T5Yexit < 13.681 <= H2 slat <= 32 -20 < FS_fRichx < 20-15 < FS_fRichy < 15 momentum dependent ChiSq cut PID Cut:Abs(R meas–Rcal) < 3 sigmaR meas–Rcal < 1 and RICH efficiency > 50% For his PID he is effectively doing a momentum cut and this has to be matched in his acceptance maps. Action Item: He will look into this He has started to make anti-particle/particle ratios, more next week. Action Item: QM proceeding due next Wednesday. Hans: QM 06 proceedings, mainly plots he showed in his poster. Generally it looks good. spectra averaging (20') ( Slides ) Pawel Staszel Action Item: Please read before next week when Pawel can be present. Hongyan Yang: Recent dAu analysis using 3rd round of DSTs. At y=0 she finds her spectra lower than Phenix and Star by a factor of 2, independent of centrality and particle type. She wonders if this is due to the acceptence map. She is not sure about how to deal with the MRST0 detector. FV says that we tried to ressurect early runs with only timing information on inelastic counter. There is another set of runs with lousy descriminators that have lots of cross talk. Trigger is fine but vertex is fine and for these runs you cannot use the inelastic counters for normalization. However a good fraction ~50% also have BB vertex and therefore one can use the double ratio of the BB/inelastic counter for good runs to do normalization. At y=3 she gets good agreement with Ramiro. _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l_at_lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Fri Feb 09 2007 - 12:29:51 EST
