Hi, Two persons from our group can participate for about two weeks in 62 GeV running. This two persons can arrive to BNL anytime in about a week after the run schedule will be fixed. Our participation in the BRAHMS Collaboration Meeting will be changed if the run will overlap with the meeting. Best regards, Zbigniew -----Original Message----- From: brahms-l-bounces@lists.bnl.gov [mailto:brahms-l-bounces@lists.bnl.gov]On Behalf Of Flemming Videbaek Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 12:27 AM To: brahms-l Subject: [Brahms-l] Fw: RHIC Run Plan Dear Collaborator, As you should have seen there was an electric accident at RHIC last Friday. This happen in the STAR magnet powersupply. A description of the problem and safety concerns should be available on http://www.bnl.gov/esh/esc/ but has yet to show up. DOE has an investigative tems coming to BNL today to access the incedent, and recommend how to proceed. The STAR power supply switches aslo have to be rebuild. It is unclear how long time this will take, and when operation will be approved. If this is estimtaed to take more that about a week, the backup plan is to start 62 GeV running in about a week. This is of course not what we have planned for, but we should do as best we can to get the experiment going if this will scenario is to be played out. This will require change of plans for many. I have no intention of changing the collaboration meeting, but will ask as many as possible to indicate availability to come here on short notice, and participate in the runs. Probably we may have to give up the plans for 2-person shifts at all times. Please send me,dana and jh your response to we have an idea how this could be worked out. Recall there is no firm schedule for thye STAR PS repair as well as an understanding what the DOE team may demand of BNL. regards Flemming -------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Bldg 510-D Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, NY11973 phone: 631-344-4106 cell: 631-681-1596 fax: 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek @ bnl.gov ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pile, Philip H" <pile@bnl.gov> To: "Christie, William" <christie@bnl.gov>; "Deshpande, Abhay" <abhay@bnl.gov>; "Videbaek, Flemming" <videbaek@bnl.gov> Cc: "Roser, Thomas" <roser@bnl.gov>; "Lowenstein, Derek I" <lowenstein@bnl.gov>; "Aronson, Samuel" <samaronson@bnl.gov>; "Pilat, Fulvia C" <pilat@bnl.gov>; "Brown, Kevin A" <brownk@bnl.gov>; "Makdisi, Yousef I" <makdisi@bnl.gov>; "Ptitsyn, Vadim" <vadimp@bnl.gov>; "Sampson, Paul" <sampson@bnl.gov>; "Benante, John T" <benante@bnl.gov> Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 4:11 PM Subject: RHIC Run Plan Bill, Abhah and Flemming, The attached RHIC start-up plan, sent to Sam by Derek and discussed at our 3:00 meeting (and agreed too), is attached..note this plan should be considered a DRAFT..
