Dear BRAHMS,

after about 3.5 years of work, my PhD thesis is now ready and has been
submitted to the opponents for review. Yo-hooo :-) In the Oslo-tradition,
it is organized as a monograph up to and including the analysis chapter,
and then the main results are presented as papers. In my case, the papers
are the RdA suppression paper, my Bormio conference proceeding on the same
topic, the p+p ratios paper and a paper draft which details my analysis of
identified particle yields in p+p at 200GeV.

The thesis and all papers are available here:
http://www.fys.uio.no/~bjornhs/phd/
for anyone interested. While all the main points are of course now fixed,
it will not be sent for final printing for a week or two so if you see any
typos or obvious cosmetic errors please let me know.

Also, you are of course free to discuss the work I present on p+p yields,
which cannot be said to be finalized until the paper is published. It is
agreed that we will not do so until we have better data at y>2.5 from the
run V dataset, but I believe that the midrapidity and "near forward" data
are in good shape - or at least as good as they can get from the 2001
dataset. I also hope that the paper draft I present can form a good
foundation for a final paper on identified particle produciton in p+p
collisions from BRAHMS. Also note that the draft does have some
interesting physics points, that do not rely on the forward rapidity data.

Though I do not intend to disappear with this submission, I would like to
take the opportunity to thank all of you for many years of good
collaboration, education and friendship. I have been in BRAHMS through
both my MSc and PhD studies and as such it has become a very defining part
of my education, and it has definately not been a bad one :-) Thank you
all, and I hope that I can hitch a ride to at least one more collaboration
meeting to have another beer with you.

Best regards
--Bjorn
