Event though plans are still in flux I will like to give you a heads up on progress. Most likely, the Director will give the annouchment of the donations to RHIC running tomorrow, assuring the upcoming run, and in short time thereafter we could get a real run-plan. I strongly expect a 200+62 gev run will be in the works indicating we will have a 2-3 week run around mid-May following a 200 GeV run. Once this is finalized I do need to get real commitments from the groups involved for shifts and preparation assignements. We have started the preparations in the area for the setup. a) Before the machine is closed up we want to complete the calibration of the shower max detectors. Ramiro will take the charge of this work b) The electronics have been turned on in the FEH and IR. Bob and John have been checking out electronics modules and crates. A few problems have been identified. c) The DAQ is up running, but we (I) had some problems with a VME processor that mis-behaves, causing some interchange of available modules. d) Next week we will turn on PMT's etc (Ramiro, Burton,..). e) Bob and Jogh will check discriminator modules for problems. f)The DC chmabers wilkl be turned on likely tomorrow (Ramiro) to checkout that they are still in working status (hopefully no problems i.e. ned dead planes show up.) regards Flemming -------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Bldg 510-D Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, NY11973 phone: 631-344-4106 fax: 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek @ bnl.gov _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Thu Jan 12 20:23:48 2006
