I will like to share with you a few things I learned on RAA and their dependence on dN/dEta. This was inspired by questions and comments at various talks, as well as a couple of newer papers demonstrating that for the large energy losses the high pt particles observed are mainly a surface emission. In addition a took a brief look on what a change in the underlying reference spectrum (with eta) does for the RAA. In fact due to this it reveals less information on the medium, and makes the dependence of dN/dEta quite small. The attached pdf file is hopefully self explanatory. I think some of the lessons learned are relevant to both the upcoming talks at QM as well to the papers we are going to write. Comments and discussion on this subject is most welcome.
