[Brahms-l] : Scheduling Physicist News: No beam operations for at least 2 weeks

As you can see from the attached message the fault found was worse than
anticipated (hoped for), and not only one sextant but 3 will have to be
warmed up for yellow ring. The warnup-cooldown by it self is in order of 2
weeks , since it now has to go to room temperature not liquid N2. Thus the
earliest for resume injection of yellow and ramping will be ~ December 16.
What the subsequent scheduled will be is unclear, but it is unlikely that
physics running will start until into next year early January. I will
contact those of you who have scheduled to be at BNL in the period Dec
20-Jan4 somewhat later next week when additional information is hopefully
available.
This will most likely entail that the end of the cu-cu will also be moved by
at least two weeks possible around

This unfortunate delay will make the overall planning of the run a bit of a
mess from my point of view. As the schedule was up until today the presence
of outside collaborators matched well the requirements. This will definitely
change the needs, and you should all be prepared to help out and make this
viable for BRAHMS

best regards
    Flemming
