Dear friends, Reflecting on the presentations and the glimpse of the papers from the 3 other collaborations last monday in Port Jefferson it seems to me that the style that we adopted for the whitepaper draft can form the basis for developping the document into the kind of review article that we are envisioning. In particular I think we should stick to the 'low theory' style. IWiththat in mind I think that the modified chapter 7 sticks out from the rest. I would therefore suggest to remove much of the explicit reference to theory and only keep the implicit reference (e.g. the references themselves). In fact I ran into Peter Jacobs at CERN yesterday and we compared opinions on the monday meeting. He mentioned that he would like to see the STAR document being shortened down to 25 pages (from the now 50-60) and the extensive introductory theory review material disappear. I don't know if this reflects his own opinion or a general opinion of the STAR team present in PJ. In any case, I may find a little time to go over the document again until june 30th after which time I will disappear on vacation (with no mailing address) until then of July. Before attacking the document again I would like to have comments and opinions from all of you, now that we already have a bit of distance from the hectic last weeks of writing and have had a chance to reflect on the PJ discussions. I think we should maintain the ambition of submitting the whitepapers to a suitable review journal in a not too homogenized form and conserving the length and scope decided by the collaborations internally. cheers JJ ____________________________________________________________ Jens Jørgen Gaardhøje, Assoc.
