Dear Collaborator,
At today's 3 o'clock coorination meeting which JH attended the issues of RHIC clock failures were discussed.
The outcome though not formalized that should this happen at a new store (no lumonosity,
no sync rhic clock for Zdc signals, see FEHut scope and confere with either FV or JH ) call MCR that no clock is present
an declare vote for dump. Please also call STAR,PHENIX and PHOBOS
counting house and indicate RHIC clock failure.

About the schedules for access and beam experiments
3/16 Tues. Beam Exp. 20:00-07:00
3/17 Wed. Maintenance 07:00-15:00
3/18 Thurs. Machine Dev. 08:00-18:00

3/22 Mon. Beam Exp. 20:00-07:00
3/24 Wed. Machine Dev. 08:00 -
On this later item see more below.

I will adjust shift schedule to reflect these planned developments.

On another note we (BRAHMS) are having increasing problems with magnets at high field.A major repair is foreseen,
but with carefull planning this will not have to be done until the start of pp-setup period. I am proposing, to ensure we can run
high fields for the remaining 200 geV as well as for a few settings at 63 GeV, that some of the running in the last two weeks
is done at ~0.71*Full fiel d at 8 GeV. This still gives acceptance to ~ 2.5-4GeV/c in pt but at lower power cost which may be
crucial. The store thorugh tomorrow morning should be mae at full field, after which we coul change.

regards
Flemming

--- From run-4 coorddinator --on 63 GeV startup

for the upcoming low energy run, a 2-3 effort for machine
set-up is needed. Here are the details:

(1) On Thursday, 18 March, 8am to 6pm, we will work on ramp
development for the the low energy ramp. Our goal is to accelerate
and store beam at the new storage energy of 31.2GeV/u, and to start
commissioning the storage rf system at this energy. Mei will lead the
effort during that day.

(2) On Wednesday, 24 March, 8am, we will begin a short set-up period
for the low energy run (not more than 3 days). Since the low energy run
is very short, and the luminosity is reduced by about an order of
magnitude, a fast set-up is very important. The low energy run will
end on Friday, 2 April, 8am.

A start-up plan is available from the Run-4 web page
