As you know there was a PAC meeting yesterday with the purpose on reviewing the decadal plans submitted. The PAC did not complete their work as todays meeting was cancelled, but will do shortly. The outcome will feed into the final document that will be submitted to DOE at the end of this month. Enclosd is a 'thank-you' note from the PAC+RHIC management to the efforts that took place regards Flemming -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Messages From Jack Sandweiss and tom Kirk From: "Kirk, Tom" <tkirk@bnl.gov> Date: Sat, December 6, 2003 10:02 am To: "Hallman, Tim" <Hallman@bnl.gov>, "Roland, Gunther" <gunther.roland@cern.ch>, "Videbaek, Flemming" <videbaek@bnl.gov>, "Zajc, Bill" <zajc@nevis.columbia.edu> . December 6, 2003 Dear Tim, Gunther, Flemming and Bill: This comes to convey sincere thanks and deep appreciation to you and all members of your collaborations for their dedicated efforts that culinated in production of the decadal plans. I first provide to you a message from PAC Chairman, Jack Sandweiss: "On behalf of the PAC, I would like to thank the collaborations for their hard work and careful thought that went into the decadal plans we studied in our recent meeting. These were extremely well done, very useful and very clearly highlighted the truly exciting potential physics which can be accomplished at RHIC. Jack Sandweiss" These sentiments also go for BNL management who not only solicted the collaborations for the planning documents, but also for many other components of the planning work, including intimate involvement in the overall planning process and the document that BNL must submit to DOE ONP on December 31, 2003. I speak for all of the Laboratory in extending grateful thanks for this onerous but essential planning work. Please convey this message to the members of your collaborations. When the PAC has completed their work on a written version of their comments from the December 5 Meeting, it will be distributed to the collaborations. Many thanks, Tom Kirk -- Flemming Videbaek Brookhaven National Laboratory Physics Department tlf 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov _______________________________________________ Brahms-l mailing list Brahms-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-lReceived on Sat Dec 6 10:30:29 2003
