Hi it is still the plans for RHIC to deliver stores later today (Tuesday) - all of course assuming sufficient progress is made. It is clearly more difficult that anticipated, so even though it can be frustrating to wait for the beam, let us be patient and for effecient running once it gets going. Flemming enclosed minutes for this morning commisioning meeting. ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 11:05 AM Subject: 4/29 8:30 meeting on RHIC commissioning | Minutes of 4/29 8:30 meeting | | STATUS: | | 1. The rotator ramp is harder with the new configuration especially in Yellow | (one correction: the rotators were all on during commissioning of Sunday | night). With 3 shifts effort (tune correction, orbit correction), we have | about 20% polarization survived rotator ramp in Yellow. | | 2. Several attempts of 55 bunches with 30-40*10^11 per ring failed due to | various reasons. | | 3. The measured spin pattern form the source has been working since yesterday. | It has been delivered to experimenters through CDEV. | | | PLAN: | | 1. Set the spin tune close to 0.5 by adjusting Yellow snake current. This | will increase betatron tune space in Yellow ring and raise polarization level | for Yellow. | | 2. Fill with 55 bunches and get collision to confirm the spin direction at | PHENIX. | | 3. Provide 55X55 collisions. | | | Haixin | | | |
