Dear Collaborator, As I mailed you yesterday there is only about 3 day left of the dAu run (ending Sunday evening) . Unfortunately it is unlikely we will be able to complete all of our goals. The 4 deg (y~3) measurements are almost complete with only another few hours of good beam neede . Following this the remaining time will be devoted to 12 deg running at 1/2 field (A-pol) to measure a good pt spectrum for pi-, if beam is stable up to 3-3.5 GeV/c. The mid-rapidity measurements will be aimed at 40 deg which looks quite clean, and with the Cherenkov C4 and extended tof we should have a considerable pt-reach; the main limitation is of course statistics, so we hope for good stores like the one yesterday until this noon. The overall summary of settings are posted on the operator Web page and I plan by early next week to give you an overview of achievements uring this run, and what is in the plans for the pp run. regards Flemming -- Flemming Videbaek Brookhaven National Laboratory Physics Department tlf 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
