Dear Collaborator,
Please find attached a new version of the beam use proposal.
The request follows the idea outlined by Dieter, namely requesting Au-Au, dA and pp.
Though this is not in good accordance with the swith-over estimates by Roser,
I do find it reasonable to put this down as a request,
with the caveat, that if switchovers go slowly (which should be known
when RHIC do start up), one of the two system dA or pp wil have to be dropped.
The arguments for such scenario can then be further developed in the oral presentation.
The text is somewhat re-organized using large parts of the contributions from Jens Jorgen and Michael.
I should say on the physics justification I dropped several sentences that seemed to speculative, or I did
really understand.
I think this attempts take into account the concerns raised so far, and hope that the next iteration will deal with tightening the flow and the text, as well as checking some references and the luminosity estimates. As before please be specific in suggested changes and comments.
