    Dear Brahms'ers,

It appears that there is a desire to have more time to be able to comment on the ratios paper more fully during the 4th of July holidays.

Consequently - and after deep consultation with the spokesperson - the deadline for comments is extended to
monday july 8, 2002 at the end of the business day (galactic universal time).

The plan is then to submit by next wednesday, 10th of July, after last reading by the spokespersons. After that day there won't be anyone working on it.

We have already received many comments. An updated version of the manuscript incorporating many of these will be circulated
    on the 4th of July.

We look forward to your - and preferably concrete - further comments. We prefer suggestions for concrete rewording over
    'I don't really like paragraphs 5,6,7,8,9 and 12'.

A few comments to major issues that have now reached a cyclic stage and perhaps also their own equilibrium between proponents for and against:

    1) we all understand exponent 1/3 from first principles. However the data show somthing different (1/4). Thus we plot both sets and in fact conclude from the difference about mu_s.

    2) I have a certain sympathy for the Becattini line. This went out due to length considerations and because some felt it didn't bring in anything new. we'll try to put it back in

    3) I feel that it would be a mistake not to comment on the transparency and the central zone.

    4) I don't think we should enlarge the exp. section with details of performance. In fact if we want more detailed discussion more exp. description will have to go.

    cheers
    JJ
