I should add that during a store early this wekend (about 1/2 h) I had the daq turned on with the 'old' trigger 1 (i.e. Left-right
B-B - rhic clock), and took data unattended. The system worked weel enough to see pp collisions with the wide sigma of ~70 cm vertex at a trigger one rate of a several hundreds. So once more regular beam gets delivered (and not only at 0-7) the system
    can be tuned.

    Hey everybody,
pp commissioning efforts continue. Right now we have 55x55 accelerated and cogged. Due to injection problems earlier and a corrector magnet failure we could not do IR steering.
Later today we plan more tune feedback studies. Until further notice we'll have a short, 0.5-1 h, experimental access (controlled!) every night before we go into colliding mode around midnight - provided there are customers. MCR will call the experiments to make arrangements. Again, the nights should be dedicated to colliding beams for experiments. This night we a special arrangement: we grant a 4 h restricted access to PHENIX (3:00 - 7:00). Any other IR access has to be coordinated by MCR and has to be CONTROLLED. Everybody from the other IRs has to be out by 6:45 (7:00 for PHENIX) to have enough man power for sweeping PHENIX. We should have colliding beam from 0:00-3:00, however please contact MCR if you're counting on beam this night to make sure.

Westinghouse inspection went well, we'll have a maintenance period of 5-6 days when we'll have a 1-2 hour shut down to replace more brushes. Tentatively we'll have the next one either tuesday or wednesday. Also on the plate for next week I have more experimental accesses in the order of 5 hours. It's not yet scheduled and I'll keep you posted.

Polarization at RHIC flattop could be confirmed (~15%) while false asymmetries are ruled out by now :). AGS polarization at extraction is still only at 20% and we continue working on it as well as tune feedback in RHIC. Other topics are AC dipole commissioning, tune scans and de-acceleration.

    Have a nice weekend,
