    Subject: proton shutdown

    Hi all,
after the pretty successful 20 GeV run (thanks for the reminder, Mark ) on sunday, we ended the Au-Au run as scheduled (well, ending something in time is the easy part ;)) monday morning and started the proton shutdown in the AGS and RHIC. AGS is back to pp setup since monday 10:00 pm. The pp shifters are currently tuning the AGS flattop by sweeping the b-field for more polarisation since what's been measured appears to be around 30% only.

RHIC restricted access is over by 12:00 tomorrow. Please be out of the tunnel in time in order to allow RHIC startup with beam from 14:00 on! If possible we would like to sweep as many areas as we can before hand since 2 hours are too short for the entire RHIC ring. Check closely with MCR for planing remaining work before you go in tomorrow. Thank you. Knowing that not all work could be done during this shutdown there will be another access, within the next 1-2 weeks, of the order of 2 shifts. I'll keep you updated about it. Enjoy your evening,
