Hi Christian, The problem we have is not in getting the frames to join--that is easy. The problem is to also have acceptable labels, both in terms of size (your example would be far too small for publication) and range (axis labels should start from zero unless there is a good reason for an offset). When you bring the axes together there is a tendency for one pane to blank the axis label on the adjacent pane. Basically these are operations that will take a long time for a non-expert to get right and could delay final submission. We should continue to work on figure improvements, but at some point we'll have to go with what we have. One question, however: Do you know how to get the numbers on an axis to all have the same precision? We have a problems with root taking the sequence, for example, of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5... and doing the labels as 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5. The journal will not accept this and I can't find a way to fix the problem within root. Have you figured this one out? Regards, Steve
