The weekend was did not supply us with lots of beam, but never the less progress has been made toward the high statistics goals for the 12 deg and the 90 degree high pt running. So far we have about 2M trigger 6 for 2/3 filed a-polarity at 12 deg and 1.6M at 90 deg. The MRS was moved forward to the default position around noon today (D5 at 195 cm) . This will increase the solid angle by ~30% . If the program continues in the average fashion we will probably get around 5M more triggers in the next day, not quite enough to met the high pt goal we had hoped for. I regard to the 22 GeV running the proposal for running is - change ZDC HV to accomodate for lower gain. Since the beam will not be rebunched just take data with trigger 1 i.e. BB(L) BB(R) coinc. this has a resonmable effeciency, but will clearly drop off for less central coll. I attach a simulation for 22 GeV Hijing hit multiplicity for central BBL and BBr. The #hits is ~1/3 at 200 geV, but do also have wider fluctuations. Never the less it looks resonable efficient for those collisions. regards Flamming ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov
