Hi, the weekend - unfortunately - wasn't quite as productive as we were hoping after the break through last week with the beta*=1m in PHENIX. The main reason was ongoing problems with QLIs blended with beam lifetime problems. Today was spent on power supply work (the main supplies, Q89 around PHENIX, 10 o'clock service building) and we are currently doing a hysteresis ramp (well, not the first one today!) with *some* chance that the situation improved. For the rest of today and all day tomorrow until Wednesday morning 6:00 am RHIC should deliver collisions (power supplies permitting!) as uninterrupted as possible. Only minor changes for better liftetime and more reliability will be done. With RHIC beams stored high beam intensity studies for the C-line experiment (E949) are planned. During the day tomorrow - and also later today if still possible - priority should be given to the C-line experiment leaving the D-line with some 5 Tp proton intensity. Also, tomorrow afternoon for ~ 2 h high intensity beam will be run down the C3-line to E931 (RHIC permitting). This can be done although their local target is not in place. Outside this dedicated study time beam will be split such that the D-line target stays just below its trip level (which is currently about 17 Tp). I see you all tomorrow, Angelika ------------- pager #4300
