This is a fairly well known problems of both pii6, pii7 i.e the pii's in the CH outside the firewall that they occasional loose ither the ypbind or the nfs mount. The solution is rarely to re-boot, since after the reboot either of the two services has been lost. - so be patient and wait for a person with sys-priv to redo the connections see the brahms-daq-l@bnl.gov list server for remedy. ------------------------------------------------------ Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory tlf: 631-344-4106 fax 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov ----- Original Message ----- From: "Konstantin Olchanski" <olchansk@sam.triumf.ca> To: <brahms-l@bnl.gov> Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2001 5:11 PM Subject: Re: Shift report 20011021 08:00-16:00 > On Sun, Oct 21, 2001 at 04:00:53PM -0400, Apache wrote: > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------ > > Date: Sun Oct 21 16:00:52 2001, Shift: 08:00-16:00 > > Supervisor: KH, with: JC > > Log book#10 pages 39 - 42 > > > > Shift Summary: > > ------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > Problems for computer experts: > > pii7 has gotten sick. > > Looks like it lost it's network connection.
