    Dear Collaborator,

As we have agreed a paper on the multiplicity data at 200 GeV should be written
with expediency; Though, the analysis, in particluar the difficult energy calibrations has taken time, but the results
that hiro posted recently are almost final. (see http://pii3.brahms.bnl.gov/~hito/dndeta/2001)

We have established a paper writting commitee that will adress the physics issues, the quality of the data and the
layout of the paper. The lead people are Jens Jorgen and Steve Sanders is putting together the paper in close contact with
the other members of the committee [ Hiro Ito, Fouad Rami, Hans Boggild , JHLee and trine]

Both the data and the evolving draft is available to everyone, and I urge you to take a carfefull look at the data - the basic analysis steps are very much like trhe previous dN/deta analysis , and if you have questions comments direct them to the commitee.
The aim is to have this paper written and submitted quickly, since the analysis seems very much in hand ,and it will be a nice early result from the 200 GeV run.

    best regards
        Flemming
