This shutdown will be used for us to
    a) look at various (and fix) HV problems
    b) review and exchange some FFE cards
    c) Look at DVMs
    d) Install more fibre's (T2 hopefully)
    e) H2 slat 3 - HV problem

Please advice for other expected maintnance by e-mail to Dana and/or me. Tech assistance will
    have to be coordinated.

    Hey all,

important things first: next week wednesday and thursday (Oct. 10-11)
we'll have a RHIC 48 h shutdown on request of PHENIX and STAR. RHIC will
go into restricted access mode 8:00 am in the morning while the AGS is
supposed to be shut off at 4:00 am for cool down. The plan :) is to fill
RHIC before 4:00 am and to keep a production store in until 8:00 am when
RHIC opens up. The 48 h should include closing up PHENIX and sweeping
the area in time to be ready for injection into RHIC 8:00 am friday
morning, Oct. 12. Other areas might be swept much earlier than that
depending on the work planed for those (snakes, AC dipole, BPMs etc.).
There will be no SEB during wednesday day since AGS-RF work followed by
some setup time for higher extraction intensities are planned. SEB
should resume operation some time during wednesday night and run thru
thursday. Please don't hesitate to contact me for more details,
    complaints, questions or whatever.

Secondly, as most of you probably already noticed, Todd's turn as
scheduling physicist is over (people reported him hopping and
somersaulting down the corridor after the turn-over ;)) and I'm the next
one in line to inherite the *fun*. I would like to use this chance to
thank Todd for all his efforts in general but in particular for all his
(ongoing) assistance to make the turn-over for me as easy as possible.

    Have a nice weekend,
                                                    \|/
