By common demand, and to ease and speed up the writting of papers, I've started a CVS repository for BRAHMS papers, talks and the like. Jens Jorgens paper for Moriond is the first paper to hit that repository, and it's the hope that it will serve as a prototype for all future papers from the BRAHMS collaboration. I've made a LaTeX2e (not LaTeX2.09 which is OLD) package called 'brahms.sty'. This package defines a number of macros/commands that I believe to be very useful. Also, I've made 'configure.in' and 'Makefile.am' files, so one may benefiet from the superiour skill of Autotools to find the right programs (latex, dvips, fig2dev, bibtex, makeindex, and so on) to correctly produce a print. Also, as a neat sideeffect, it's damn easy to make a tar-ball of all the .tex, .eps, .ps, etc files, ready for upload to some preprint server! Please checkout JJs talk from the CVS repository with cvs -d /afs/rhic/brahms/BRAHM_CVS checkout papers/moriond2001 and read the README file for more information. Please note, that since we all have write access to the CVS repositories, good behaviour - that is, do not make changes not previously approved by main author/editor - is expected. Should the need arise, we may explicitly close for changes to these repositories. I'd like to encourage the two paper commities of the p/pbar and multiplicity papers to import the source files (.tex, .eps, etc.) to the papers repository. Also, any other document related to BRAHMS should be imported. I strongly discourage people from importing binary formated files (like Word, RTF, GIF, JPEG, etc. files) into the repository. Also, rather than importing eps, ps or pdf files, I suggest you import ROOT scripts (as saved from the canvas), .fig files, and so on. The reason for this is simple: It's easier to edit those formats than a PostScript or a Portable(?) Document Format file. Also, I'd like to take this oppertunity to promote the idea of some standard BIBTeX libraries that we should develop, to ease the use of references. In doing so, SPIRES is your friend. If you have any questions or comments (after reading the README file) on how to benefiet from using 'brahms.sty', 'configure.in', 'Makefile.am', along with CVS, do not hesitate to contact me. If you have comments, questions, or the like to the article it self, JJ is your man. I hope you find this useful.
