Shift list August 8, 2001
An updated shift list for the period through the weekend and partially
through next week has been put onto the default place on pii3. I hope and
expect that this can be in effect without too many changes. In addition over
the weekend where we hopefully will get some stable store the initial timing
and setup for all detectors can be completed by Hiro, Ramiro, Dana , Michael
and myself. Please make a printout and post in CH.
Since we really need to go into a one-person shift mode in the day and
evening time is is really imperative that every collaborator ensure to have
the formal and practical knowledge on the experiment brought up to date.
This includes (as said before, and detailed on the RHIC/AGS users training
page)).
- rhic access training (if you took it last year the challenge exam
suffices, otherwise you must attend class.
- Rad worker I (TLD training) If you have taken it before it is
valid for 2 years, and can retake by challenge exam. If you have not had it
you must take the course given every two weeks.
- Read and acknowledge for shift leaders as described on the AGS
users page, And the brahms op. page
- Procedures for magnet turn on/off
- Read and acknowledge for "skills of craft"
- Familiarize yourself with the brahms procedures for shift taking
(HV, run start/stop, monitoring, record keeping, start of run following
stored beam).
Please remember that if this is not all done an additional workload will
fall on your collaborators that will have to cover your shift even in cases
where we could do with one person only. Please get all this done as quickly
as possible after coming to BNL if not already done - do not delay.
Best segards
