The BNL ITD has announced a series of moving and power outages. I enclose summaries put together from the
quite uncomprehensible list from ITD. As you can see it is not quite predictable but pelase plan around those days and possible enjoy the weekends.

    note from Betty:

The power outage at ITD Saturday Feb 17 and Saturday Feb 24 should not
be disruptive for us in general .
With one exception, on the 17th from 6am-8pm, those people who get mail thru
    exchange.bnl.gov can not receive/send mail.

Saturday March 10 from 6am-8pm is another matter.
The power will be off in 510 (ITD/RCF) and 515 (PHYSICS).
They intend, no guarantees, to have generators to power the BNL Backbone
    and the perimeter firewall.
In general outside/inside logins should work to nodes in other buildings.
No mail as bnl.gov as well as sgs1.hirg.bnl.gov will be without power.
One should be able to ssh to pii3,pii4 and pii5 as they are in the Counting House.

RCF will be taking advantage of the down time to move some equipment.
and expect to be up around midnight.

More details on times will follow as we get closer to March 10.

    -- Note from KO.

ITD are not providing coherent information. My guess is that everything
Windows will be down (i.e. www.bnl.gov, the BNL domain, MS Exchange email).
Then on March 10th, *everything* will be off, due to total bldg.510, 515
blackout. By then, pii3, should be in 1002, but it is not clear if the
network will stay up or not.

    K.O.
