Its disks from another vendor. I will like to add to the information that the content off these disks should be considered carefully. The disks are to be treated as scratch disks. RCF has a dispute with the vendor in termsw of i/o/ rate capabilities and a) trying to get a fix to this b) if not succeed get disks from another vendor If this happen content may disappera quite quickly with < 1 days notice. The ideal storage will be for raw event data files that can be reloaded from the HPSS system /fv ----- Original Message ----- From: "Konstantin Olchanski" <olchansk@ux1.phy.bnl.gov> To: <brahms-l@bnl.gov> Sent: Tuesday, November 28, 2000 5:41 PM Subject: [rcfstaff@bnl.gov: new disks for BRAHMS,PHENIX,PHOBOS,STAR] > > > The new brahms disks listed below (5x300 Gbytes) are now > available on the pii's running RedHat 6.2+ and autofs: pii2, pii4, pii5, > and pii10. > > > K.O. > > > > ----- Forwarded message from RCF/USAtlas Staff <rcfstaff@bnl.gov> ----- > > Delivered-To: olchansk@ux1.phy.bnl.gov > Date: Tue, 28 Nov 2000 16:04:21 -0500 > Reply-To: rhic-rcf-l@bnl.gov > Precedence: bulk > From: RCF/USAtlas Staff <rcfstaff@bnl.gov> > To: rhic-rcf-l@bnl.gov, rhic-software-l@bnl.gov > Subject: new disks for BRAHMS,PHENIX,PHOBOS,STAR > X-Listprocessor-Version: 8.1 -- ListProcessor(tm) by CREN > > Hi, > > The following disks are now accessible on > the Linux Farm (cas and crs nodes): > > BRAHMS --> /brahms/data04,05,06,07,08 (300 GB each) > PHENIX --> /phenix/data13,14,15,16 (600 GB each) > PHOBOS --> /phobos/data04,05 (600 GB each) > STAR --> /star/data11,12,13,14,15 (600 GB each) > > If you encounter problems using these disks > on the Linux Farm, please contact me. > > Cheers, > > Tony > > -- > This message forwarded from the RCF announcements page. > Recent messages are available at: > http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/RCF/Announcements/announce.html > > ----- End forwarded message ----- > > -- > Konstantin Olchanski > Physics Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York > olchansk@bnl.gov >
