    Dear Collaborator,

This years Heavy Ion run came to an end this morning when RHIC was turned off from the HI running and turned over to a two week period of polarized proton commisioning.
I think at the end we have obtained considerable more data that was hoped for just a month back.
Much work is ahead to turn this into a better understanding of detectors, and into good physics results. I take this opportunity is taken to thank you all who have participated in bringing BRAHMS into the existance, be it detector concepts and construction, software development, getting it all into place in the IR and taking part in the shifts. I think we can be proud of the achievments in the relative short time it took to put the experiment together, and are looking forward to the results of this work. It should be a fun time ahead looking and understanding the data.

    sincerely yours,
        Flemming
