One mechanism from moving large files from RCF to home inst is to use outgoing ftp from
a server at rcf dedicated to this purpose i.e.

    rftpexp.rcf.bnl.gov

Connect to this via rsshgw.rcf.bnl.gov using ssh and connect further one.
The large data disk are on that machine. The 'good data up to run 1978 are on
    data01/data/raw.

      Hi fellow BRAHMS's

I was wondering if anybody had some good suggestions for moving files from
      BNL to the home institute.

I know I can ftp them, but that somehow seems not so nice.
scp works if I use scp1, but what I really would like to do was klog to
the brahms piix machines and just copy them from there.
      Is that possible ?

      Cheers,
         Peter
