     Folks,

The ZDC timing "mystery" we've been wondering about
    (see http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/brahms/WWW/private/list_hyper/brahms-l/0129.html)
is probably due to some recent changes made in the ZDC monitoring
program (BrMonitorZDC.cxx), I assume by ZDC people.

The 5-8 nsec offset on the ZDC time differences we are seeing now
is because the current ZDC monitoring program plots the time
difference between two 1st ZDC channels. We already know that the
time difference of the 1st channel is NOT centered at or near 0 by
     some reason. (please see
     http://pii3.brahms.bnl.gov/~operator/pictures/zdc_time_diff.ps)
The old version of the ZDC monitoring program used summed TDC values
for plotting time differences. Anyway, the ZDC time difference
look much like before if I use two TDC Sums instead of two 1st channels.
     (Please see
     http://pii3.brahms.bnl.gov/~operator/pictures/zdc_1941.ps).

     JH
