Dear all, As some of you may know, I've been assigned the task of formulating and developing the framework for the BRAHMS databases. Due to the upcomming DAQ test on from the 15. this month, and again around the 28., I was asked to finish (at least partly) this work this week. However, due to some unforseen technical difficulties I'll proberly not finish until Monday or Tuesday the comming week. At that time, I will commit the code into the BRAT CVS repository. However, I would like for every detector group to make a list of what kind of calibration data should be in the database. The list should contain: * A type definition of the detector (e.g., TOF, TRACK, etc.) and a name of the prinicipel maintainer, including email adress, and institute. * A list of all sub-components, and thier types (e.g., for H1 40 slats, giving 80 PMT tubes, named like PMTT<x> and PMTB<x>) * What kind of data each type of sub components will put into the database (e.g. three parameters for sleeving corrections for each PMT etc.) * An outline of the calibration process for the individual sub-component types. This info will serve to guide the choice of internal database formats. This information should be mailed to me (cholm@nbi.dk), and preferably also posted on the individual detector pages of the primary BRAHMS web site. I may later on ask you to provide some C++ classes for the database. Ofcourse I'll provide you with some sort of skeleton for this later on.
