For thos od you running ampt, urqmd in big files (selemon in particular) you will have to use another scratch disk for the output or evne better. once the calculations are done pick a local machnie e.g. rcas0001 which has 3.6 Tn of free space go to and create on /data/scratch/ your file - copy from your ampt, urqmd directory to there - you can then analyze the datafiles on that machnie.
