Hi Hans,

I think you should be able to read of the plateau value of the
acceptance and compare those in the old and new simulation. This is also
relatively easy to calculate by hand. The 20% seems suspiciously much
like the 2*1 cm fiducial cuts out of the D5 10 cm height (if memory
serves me well).

About the dead slat correction. I just looked up in my Ph.D. thesis and
Djamel and I looked at all the runs used and then forced the slats that
were dead in some runs (or had poor calibrations) to be dead in all data
runs and simulation. A dead slat shows up as a band with smaller
acceptance in the maps and you should be able to compare this with data,
see e.g. page 81 in my thesis, even though I was too lazy as you can
also see:-)
