In view of Steve's posting and of discussion with Hongyan last week I should clarify how the dn/dy of the input is normalized. a) The dn/dy ~ (1-y/5.4) b) It is normalized to 1 (one) at a rapidity value corresponding to the center of the thrown bin, or to be precise the integral from ymin(trhoen) to ymax(thrown) is one. For non 90 deg settings it means the dn/dy = 1 at 0.83 for the the 45 deg setting. This seems to take care of SJS low pt part but certainly not the spike at higher pt (2 GeV) . which looks peculiar.
