I just want to remind all that even though condor allows for submission of many-many jobs there may be other reasons why this is ill advised. Please consider when submitted the i/o impact of the jobs. If the expected i/rate to a given file system excedds ~ 10-20 Mb/sec this may well affects all other people on the rcas machines even though they are run on crs nodes. Case in point since about 6 am (EDT) the crs nodes have been sitting at >60% io/wait and the whole system quite sluggish. If one is just reading ltr/gtr and doing very little computation, no more than about 20 jobs ought to be submitted at once. Please help us all being able to do some work more effecient. -------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Bldg 510-D Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, NY11973 phone: 631-344-4106 cell: 631-681-1596 fax: 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek @ bnl.gov _______________________________________________ Brahms-dev-l mailing list Brahms-dev-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-dev-lReceived on Mon Jun 26 09:20:34 2006
