[Brahms-dev-l] new root + brat +mysql imminent

Hello,
As Flemming indicated last friday, the root developers have identified a
memory leak in PROOF in root_v5.10 (our production version) which has
been causing a number of us (both those who use proof and those who are
within striking distance when proof is running) a lot of grief.

An upgrade to root 5.11 requires an upgrade of mysql as well.

To that end, we plan to start the upgrade today on or about 15:00 Texas
time. Mysql will be the first upgrade at which point most, if not all,
of the brat software will cease to function. Then will come root as
well as brat and then the supporting software. Intervention with RCF
will also be necessary and hopefully that can happen today as well.

I will send out messages indicating the progress as it occurs.

Kris
