At today's spectrum analysis meeting Selemon posted the following questions at the end of his slides. (see the CERN agenda page). I offered to summarize some action items. For comments please post to list. /fv Ø Ø 1) We need to agree on a code to use to generate the reference spectra Truls code? Given a range of runs, it reads from the database? Can it be made to read from a list too? Ø 2) We need to develop a set of standard cuts? Can we post the cuts we are using? Ø 3) We need to have acceptance maps made and kept in a common area Ø 4) We need to have tracking efficiency maps made and kept in a common area Ø 5) We need to have Geant simulations done for multiple scattering, decay and absorption corrections for all settings. For 3-5 Start with the settings that people are analyzing A couple of action items were determined 1.. Truls will make and post a list of the default cuts used in analysis later stages; in particular with the anatools method1 and method2. 2.. Selemon will contact Pawel to address the issue of location and extend of efficiency maps made for run-4 AuAu run-5 cucu and pp. 3.. It was agreed that standard acceptance maps should be available; this even though a re-generation is fairly quick. It should be aimed for 2% average error, and somewhat extend vertex range (-40,40) which is useful for some analysis. It may be wider than most auau and the centrality selection, but for inclusive and pp it is fine. In principle the maps for run-4 and run-5 are different (T1,T2) moved between runs, other detectors ok. 4.. Flemming will make a write-up of considerations of the re-generation of corrections due to decay, absorption, etc. >From the previous week meeting we have some items leftover. 1.. It was decided to create list of bad runs with justifications. This is rather broad area, so responsibility will be distributed by run-period. People who have identified bad runs should communicate this to the following people: 1.. Cu-Cu 200 Gev : Selemon 2.. Cu-Cu 62 Gev : Truls 3.. Au-Au 200 and 62 GeV: Catalin 4.. Run 5 pp: Ramiro 5.. Run 3 dAu Ramiro 2.. The information that comes from the e-log, analysis etc, should be maintained on web-page(s), and the information inserted in the run-DB such requests can be made transparently. 3.. It was suggested (later) to move the RunDB to the rcf (copy of online) such the bad run (for Global, MRS, FFS and FS) can be updated there (Hiro,FV) -------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Bldg 510-D Brookhaven National Laboratory Upton, NY11973 phone: 631-344-4106 fax: 631-344-1334 e-mail: videbaek @ bnl.gov _______________________________________________ Brahms-dev-l mailing list Brahms-dev-l@lists.bnl.gov http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/brahms-dev-lReceived on Thu Dec 8 18:55:11 2005
