Dear Claus

I think for most detectors we have probably been to stringent with the
pedestal rejection criteria;
for most scint (tof's, triggers) the signals are much wider intrinsic
widhts, an a sigma of 20 rather then 5 in ped does
not matter, for the Cherenkovs it is a different matter.

For the mentioned tofw I certainly know that Dana would prefer to keep them,
timing+slewing should still be
fine even with sigma of 20. My own preference is not to mark all bad but
rather as indicated change the
default cut.
