[Brahms-dev-l] RCF meeting 2-19-2004

Hello.  This is the info from today's RCF meeting

    * New computers and disks are coming soon.
          o 10 (1u) dual Xeon (3.06GHz) machines  each with 3 x 132GB
            local disk for BRAHMS
          o 4 x 1TB distributed data disks
          o You might notice that it is more than what we asked for 
            (by  100 % for cpu and 30% for disk).  The reason is that
            Dell out-bid their competitors (by big margins).  Anyhow,
            these machines will be available to us by mid April.  The
            problem we have is that there is NO MORE LSF licenses. We
            really need to test and use Condor. 
    * For security reasons, there (soon) will be no more access to group
      account (bramreco, bramlib etc..) at gateway machines (rssh,
      rftexp etc..)  When you need to use group account, you must at
      first login to gateway machine as yourself. Then, you can logon to
      other machines by group account from there.
    * new rftpexp2 is up and running.
