Brahms, I was asked to slew correct the ZDC signals, which in itself is straight foward. I have determined the correct slew parameters, and if you look at the http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/ZDCLeftTime.gif and http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/ZDCRightTime.gif plots you can see that the Time vs 1/sqrt(ADC) is pretty much flat. The corresponding time resolution is given in the http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/ZDCLeftTimeRes.gif and http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/ZDCRightTimeRes.gif plots. In order to correctly determine the slew corrections, I had to correct a gap in the ADC distribution due to the type of ADC module we are using. The the ADC gap for the data in the aforementioned plots has been corrected. If I were to commit these correction parameters to the database, the vertex distributions would be offset incorrectly. I then determined the vertex offset for the ZDCs. The ZDC vertex corrected distributions are plotted against the spectrometer vertex http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/VertexFinal.gif and the BB vertex http://www4.rcf.bnl.gov/~ebj/ZDCCalib/VertexZDCvBB.gif The corrections will be committed to the database later today. To apply and manage the corrections correctly, brat needs to be updated. I will need to commit changes to the following classes BrZdcRdoModule BrZdcSlewCalModule BrZdcCalibration BrZdcAdcCalModule << This is a new class to handle the ADC Gap correction BrZdcRdo To appy the ADC gap correction in the ZdcRdoModule, the function BrZdcRdoModule::UseAdcGap(kTRUE) needs to be called. I will also make a new script to commit the Gap corrections to the database. These changes will take place, if all goes well and there are no objections, later today in order to ensure the change goes seamlessly.
