In order to improve our data collection effeciency and reduce the deadtime, I decided to change to pedestal subtraction for tpm1. As since 9917 it only accepts data with timebins 40<bin<100 and have ped cut of 800 for all other channels. This cuts the active range to ~ 10 cm, but still bigger than the effective size for MRS track which is ~ 4-5 cm. Since we are not really using the full solid angle the main effect of this change is a) datasize 75kB->50kb b) deadtime lowered, thus we can now run ~120 ev/sec with 50%dead. I think this cut is ok, and it could probably be made even tighter, my initial estimate was the 70+-20 would be fine, but close. Are there concerns plese raise these ASAP, otherwise we will continue taking data this way.
