Hi, -I am pretty sure this has been said before. Trigger 3 i.e. the MRS trigger is an and of the trigger 5 + mrst0+tofw. From the ratio shown you cannot conclude anything about trigger 5. --to be completely sure you can check that the rigger 5 bit is set in the 'lower half of triggerword 1. -- see e.g. the runinex page that gives all the 'exclusive trigger bit combinations' --- the trigger 3 is not always equally effecient due to changes in the background, but it is NOT ineffecient, i.e we only loos very few (<0.5%) of tracks with the acceptance. I recall numbers like 30-50% effecient depening of whtei it is pp or da. For those pp data taken during the polarisation mkeasuemrnts these eff certainly changed a lot. I all I am not surprised in changes in the trigger3/trigger5 ratio. This number does not enter into the analysis of yields. If you are concerned, you can divide your data run in sample with high/low rarios and see if they give different results. The changes in values in the runs ~8380 over the other does not give me reason to suspect they are bad. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Flemming Videbaek Physics Department Brookhaven National Laboratory e-mail: videbaek@bnl.gov phone: 631-344-4106 ----- Original Message ----- From: <yin.zhongbao@fi.uib.no> To: <brahms-dev-l@lists.bnl.gov> Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2003 6:14 AM Subject: [Brahms-dev-l] ratio of trig3*scaledown to trig5*scaledown > Hello. > > I am still fighting with the higher yield problem without progress. > Here is a plot shows the ratio of trig3*scaledown to trig5*scaledown > vs run number.
