Howdy brahmsers. As some of you have noticed there have been problems with several of our data disks on RCF lately, in addition to AFS and NFS problems. I particularly would like to draw your attention to problem ticket 8867 [1] and the RCF announcements [2]. (Search for brahms in the latter and you'll see a whole lot of entries.) My question relates to whether the data on some, if not all, of our data disks risk being corrupted. At least data03 and data07-09 have shown erroneous behaviour. Should some of the reduction and following steps be redone? At least one should examine screen output and logs from batch jobs thoroughly to pick up inconsistencies. Best wishes from Jens Ivar [1] https://www.rcf.bnl.gov/Auth/External/cts/cts_view.pl?8898 [2] http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/RCF/Announcements/announce.html -- _____________________________________________________ ________| Jens Ivar Jřrdre |_______ \ | Dept. of Physics Office: 521 | / \ | Allégt 55 Phone: +47 55 58 27 92 | / \ | 5007 Bergen Fax: +47 55 58 94 40 | / / | Norway E-mail: jensivar.jordre@fi.uib.no | \ / |_____________________________________________________| \ /__________) (_________\
