Hi JI, Actually, I wonder it your first point might not have contributed to the file problem in the first place: My problems seem to have started after I had generated a large number of cdat files, each of which hit the 2 GB limit. Maybe this corrupted the overall file system, subsequently screwing up files created later? I hadn't considered this since I was working with the later, smaller files when I started noticing the problem.
