    Dear Pawel,

    Here is my reply

The horizontal value look right, but the gap is Not 8 cm it is smaller 6.03 at back and 5.87 at front (3.2280-2*0.372...)

The front of the block is positioned and aligned with the entrance at the field clamps.
The effective edge is of course not a 'physical' edge of any kind, but in general somewhere between the end of magnet gap and
the the field clamps. When checking for any 'closeness' to physical edge, this ought to be done (as partially done)
    a) within the 'real gap
    b) and again relative to the field clamps (that can be 4-8" away from the gap depending of the magnet.

      Dear Flemming,
Thank you for the drawings. From them I found that the outer (front of D1) horizontal size of the
shielding is (20-11.81)cm and the inner horizontal size is (20-13.56)cm.
The vertical size is 8cm (as magnet gap). The length of the box (distance between outer and inner edges) is
      38.1 cm.

Please, confirm (or not) the above numbers.
I need one more info., namely, how the Cu box is positioned in the gap. I assumed that
outer edge position in local z coordinate is the effective edge (-102.93), but from brag I see
something like -112.7cm. Please, comment on this values.

      Pawel.

Dear Pawel, It is in BRAG; maybe this is a bit complicated so I will look for a drawing I have in one of my notebooks and fax it to you.You could also 'draw' in brag this really show the outline. I think it is a good idea to include this in swimstatus(maybe with another bit value?)Flemming------------------------------------------------------

           Dear Flemming,
I updated BrMagneticVolume in the way that GetSwimStatus includes the front
shielding box for D1. I'm not sure about the exact dimensions of the shielding, so
I haven't committed the changes. Looking at the brag graphic interface I estimated that
the shielding starts (inside the magnet) 75cm form the magnet center (in z),
where it has a width (in x) of ~16.3 cm.
Close to the effective edge it has a width of ~18.2cm.
Could you send me the information, or point my attention to a place, where
I could find the exact shielding box dimensions and info of how it is positioned in the magnet gap.

          Regards Pawel.
