    Hi,
I've finally gotten brat to give pretty much the same answer as Hiro's
    analysis for our
most recent multiplicity paper. The calibrations and checks have been
done for run 4713, which is
also the run analyzed for the paper.

The program that I run with bratmain to form a root tree with the
    dN/dEta values for the
    si and tile detectors is
    brahms_app/sjs_app/macros/CentMacro.C
which I would typically run as
     >bratmain CentMacro.C -r 4713 -n 12 -v on

A plot of dN/dEta as a function of pseudorapidity can then be obtained
    using the root macro program:
    brahms_app/sjs_app/macros/dNdEta.C

The CentMacro.C program uses basic brat calls with the exception of a module
    (multReplayModule.cxx) located in the directory
    brahms_app/sjs_app/modules

For now, the dN/dEta values obtained using these procedures are slightly
    smaller than those
    found in Hiro's analysis (eg., for 0-5% central, eta=0, I get dN/dEta =
    605+/-10, quoting
a statistical error (from a somewhat dubious analysis--I think this
    still need some work...but
you can see what was done in dNdEta.C),
whereas we claim in the paper 625+/-55, quoting the stat+syst error). The
descrepancy still needs to be resolved, but at least the numbers are
    well within our quoted
    systematic range.

We also still need to understand better why the tile results look so
    strange (the reason these
were not included in the dN/dEta paper...)

    Regars, Steve
