Hi Flemming, On Fri, 16 Nov 2001 12:36:26 -0500 "Flemming Videbaek" <videbaek@sgs1.hirg.bnl.gov> wrote concerning "where is root?": > Until today I trust that my root setup was to point to > /opt/brahms/root/root_v02.02.. but this seems to have disappered on > the linux boxes. As I wrote last week [1]: I really do think, that we should delete all installations that is not in the /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/[pro|new|old] trees, since they cause more confussion than anything else, and as outnlined on numerous occasions, that really posses no problem for user that want to keep thier own installation of BRAT. If I hear nothing, to the contrary soon, I'll start cleaning the house next week. This is what happened - I cleaned the house, since I've heard nothing! That is, I removed all ROOT installations in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/root, and all the BRAT installations I could from /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/brat. Kris, could you please remove the remaining stuff in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/brat? Thanks. The directory /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/carousel even though BRAC is installed in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/pro. > Try > /opt/brahms/pro/bin/root-config --version > or > /opt/brahms/pro/new/root-config --version > > in both cases you get > 3.02/00 Yeps, that's the versions installed in those directories /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/pro/bin/root is version 3.02/00 /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/new/bin/root is also version 3.02/00 Nothing much, at least of consequence to us, has changed from 3.02/00 to 3.02/02, so I haven't bothered to update ROOT. I'd like to wait until ROOT makes a new "pro" release, which is sometime in December. If you for some reason really need version 3.02/02, I suggest you either update the installation in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/new, or install it on your own account. To update the installation in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/new, login as brahmlib, cd src/root-3.02, do root-cvs update -r v3-02-02 -P -d and then ~/bin/confroot new and finally make -j 3 make -j 3 install See also [1]. > What is going on - help is appreciated. If all you really need is to setup your environment, you can take a look at ~brahmlib/.login or ~brahmlib/.profile. It's really straight forward.
