    One wouldn't and one shouldn't!  The problem is, if the proper
    behaviour of modules depends on the runnumber and the setting of that
    runnumber is spread out all over the place, you can easily imagine
    that different runnumbers are passed to different modules, even though
    it shouldn't.   Finally, we have a module (BrDbUpdateModule) that
    takes care of all the initialisation that is needed, and hence we
    should use that for to be absolutely certain that we maintain
    referential security.
