Hi all,
in /afs/rhic/opt/brahms/ you find the subdir carussel, with some
software (perl scrips an module) to access the HPSS (I believe). In
the evergoing pursuit of making life easier for users and to have all
our software under CVS and Autotool control, I propose we make a new
package called BRAC (BRAhms Carrusel), containing the software in that
directory. I have made the nessecary stuff, and all that needs to be
done, is for this to be commited to CVS, and the following Perl
modules must be installed in
/afs/rhic/opt/brahms/pro/lib/perl5/site_perl:
  Date::Manip
  Digest::MD5
That is fairly easy:
  Download DateManip-5.40.tar.gz and Digest-MD5-2.16.tar.gz from CPAN
  Extract the archives, cd into the source tree, and there do
    perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/afs/rhi/opt/brahms/pro
    make
    make install
  For Digest::MD5, we need to do
    cd /afs/rhi/opt/brahms/pro/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.004/i386_linux
    ln -s Digest/MD5.pm .
  too! Well, what the heck not so bad after all.
To install BRAC, check it out of CVS and do
    ./autogen --prefix=/afs/rhic/opt/brahms/pro
    make install
Vola!
Let me know what you think.
Ok, in all honesty, I do not not exactly how the stuff works, so there
may be issues to deal with - but I really didn't change much, so it
shouldn't be too bad.
Yours,
