I have gotten a few positive comments back on this, and will pending in particular a response from Djamel and Claus will await action. I will though bring you up with some positive developments.

Having struggled today with some non-working root classes I finally got the ideas for
a modified calibration access to work. It has been tested that new methods writting/reading revision
works in so far reading from linux and solaris yields identical results for Tof pedetals calibrations. Inspection of the code shows that it is not yet complete, but it seems likely if we agree that an update of the DB - repopulation - and commisioning of new Brat could be done mid to end next week, and would neccesitate the switchover and re-population. This is not necessarely a perfect solution, but it will allow us to read/write from multiple paltforms.

The code is available for inspection (if you really want to) in ~videbaek/newdb/brat,
in particulary db/calib and db/abc. i think it is fair to say that if this approach (or something very close to it) is not agreed upon I will rest my case and let someone else carry the torch.
