AFAIK, this is caused by linking 'bratmain' against the ROOT GUI
libraries (those extra libs you get if you do `root-config --glibs`
instead of `root-config --libs`), which is unfortunatly needed at the
moment, since some classes in BRAT uses the class TGeometry, TNode,
    TShape, and so on.

The classes in question is the ones in modules/evdisp, which is
referenced by classes in modules/track. I've pointed out this
weakness several on several occations [1], and asked the relevant
people to do something about it. Alas, nothing of the sort has
    happened.

I've earlier proposed making the event display - when ever it may see
the light of day - a seperate software package, ofcourse dependent on
BRAT, much in the same line as BROP. Currently, it seems to me - and
please correct me if I'm wrong - that we have two or three pieces of
software that essentially does the same thing i.e., display events.
We should merge those to different pieces together into a (new?)
software package, say BRED (pronounced "breed", short for BRahms Event
    Display).

To summarize: Who ever knows about the classes in modules/evdisp,
    please remove them from BRAT.

[1] If we had a search engine on our list archives I could give you
exact references, but as it is now, it would take too much time to
find it, so I just couldn't be bothered.

    Yours,
