    Hi Christian,
I'm doing the development work on the new calibration in
brahms_app/sjs_app/multCalib. Since the calibration relies on iterative
fits of the actual data and corresponding geant simulations, I want to
get the results needed for the current analysis out before working on
getting the procedures incorporated into brat proper. I do agree that
the basic calibrations should be transparent to the Collaboration and
this is part of my motivation for consolidating the work in the
    multCalib directory.

I have read the analysis note, but may have missed some subtlety: I
still don't see how your procedure correctly handles the contamination
of low-hit events or the varying background conditions for different
locations in the array (see the PLB submission for some discussion of
this). In any case, it would be interesting to see how your centrality
determination compares to the one in the PLB submission. I will try to
go over the analysis note again later this week while taking shifts at BNL.

Good news about the database. Hopefully by next week we can start
filling in calibrations for this years data.
